PASADENA COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
PBWS Architects is delighted to endow the PBWS Architects/Harlan Pedersen Scholarship for Pasadena Community College Architectural Education. The intent of the scholarship is twofold. First, to recognize and reward student success in the study of architecture as a steppingstone to a professional career, and second, to encourage cultural awareness of architecture among all students through the qualifying criteria of enrollment in at least one class in the Area of Study in Architecture.
We are also grateful for the opportunity, in the naming of the scholarship, to honor the founder of PBWS Architects in his 95th year, Harlan Pedersen. Harlan mentored many aspiring architects and established a tone of warm humanity and wisdom that endures today through his successors. The firm was founded as Dinger and Pedersen Architects AIA in Temple City and soon moved to Pasadena in the late 1950s. PBWS continues to call Pasadena its home with offices near Old Town Pasadena.
The initial endowment is funded by donations from PBWS Architects, LLP and Greg and Nora Sun.
