MICROENVIRONMENT DESIGN FOR TEACHERS

Kirstyn Bonneau led a continuing education workshop entitled “Microenvironment Design for Teachers” for a local private TK-8 school. The workshop was divided into two parts: 1) why space design is important for learning outcomes and 2) basics of environmental design. The first portion presented current research on the effects of daylighting, green view, and other environmental factors which impact student learning. Then, an overview of design process in general and major elements of environmental design specifically were discussed.
