LOS ANGELES CITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION GALA

The Los Angeles City College (LACC) Foundation Gala celebrated 90 years of philanthropy in high style.  Held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the Gala raised funds for scholarships as well as funds for academic, vocational and workforce development programs.

A highlight of the evening was a special performance by jazz icon Herb Alpert and his wife, recording artist Lani Hall.  Mr. Alpert received the National Medal of Arts in 2013.  His Foundation made a $10.1 million donation to LACC in 2016, providing all music majors with a tuition-free education, an unmatched gift of generosity to the College.  It will benefit so many students who might otherwise not have the opportunity to go to college or forge a career in music.
