kirstyn bonneau & team spearheads the aiapf fire rebuilding panel discussion

From Kirstyn’s Linkedin:

Last Saturday, I had the privilege to moderate the "Roadmap to Rebuilding" panel discussion for the American Institute of Architects Pasadena and Foothill. Our goal was to provide homeowners affected by the Eaton Fire an overview of the process for rebuilding their homes from start to finish. Our panelists included County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Building and Safety as well as Regional Planning, an insurance adjuster, a mortgage/construction lender, a non-profit developer, an architect, a structural engineer, and a general contractor.

The team that I worked with to organize this event was incredible. Putting together a panel of 8 speakers for an audience of 175 people is no small feat, and the team managed to do it in 45 days. Parsons Corporation generously hosted this event for free, making the hybrid event possible.

Along the way, the team put together some great resources including an info graphic and FAQs in both English and Spanish. Check out the AIAPF wildfire support page here for resources: https://lnkd.in/gC6N-8mq and the County resources at https://lnkd.in/g_29jhrt. I learned that the County's page has a very useful FAQs here: https://lnkd.in/gaGfuZh4

If you want to view the recording of the event or have questions about what the AIAPF team is up to, please reach out.

Special thanks to Jessica Orlando, AIA, DBIA, WELL AP, Camille Leon, Suzan Elwyn, Jodie Mendelson, AIA, Roxana Lopez-Truong, AIA, NCARB, Monica Rodriguez, AIA, Author, AIA/LA WiA Past Chair, Jeff Wandersman, and Sandy Liu for being the best volunteer team ever.
