PASADENA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Sierra Madre Middle School Sierra Madre, California PBWS designed a new comprehensive middle school facility for 550 students in grades 6-8. It replaced an outmoded facility built in the 1940’s as an elementary school for a much smaller student population. The design team arranged the building program in a village configuration and worked carefully to fit the campus comfortably into its residential context. Three building groupings combine to create the educational village: the Administrative/Learning Resource/Counseling/Community Room grouping; the Multi-purpose/Performing Arts/Food Service/Gymnasium/Shower/Locker Room grouping; and the Two-Story Classroom Buildings. Size: 76,000 SF
